Check out The Huffington Post's list of 15 Feisty Small Presses.

I am so seriously not a fan of Wonder Woman's new costume. It won't last.

The Cabinet Staff doing their own distribution! It's rough out there.

$7.00

We've been quiet - WHY? Well, we were busy getting our own zine out! Whew! Put A Egg On It is a tasty little morsel that represents the feeling we get when lots of pals are scrunched at the table and involved in multiple conversations while snack trays and dinner plates are flying around. Put A Egg On It features writing, photography and drawings about the lovely, messy communal joys of preparing and sharing meals. Our Second issue features local products by Susie Karlowski, James Keough and Nick Catucci. Essays by Paul Gerard, Elizabeth Pearce, Kristal Hawkins and Max Blagg. Photography by Laura June Kirsch and Billy Sullivan. Drawings by Aaron Renier, Jason McClean, Shayne Ehman and mc sub-zero permafrost. Yum!

Roomservice

100 pages, full color, perfect bound
170 mm x 240 mm
€15

I particularly love magazines with a strong concept from which all of its content revolves around. When all choices are made based on their relationship to the central concept, a magazine becomes a unified whole, even though it contains a wide diversity of contributions. This is the real art of magazine making. I also love magazines that feature people who aren't famous - because fame isn't enough to make someone interesting. Found and Butt are two favorites because they exemplify these qualities and so does the new Dutch magazine Roomservice created and designed by Jacco Kranenburg. Issue one is a collection of the magazine's winning bids on ebay auctions of human billboards. Through auction descriptions and photos of sellers displaying their Roomservice advertisements, we get a fascinating glimpse into the lives of strangers.

Roomsevice is an intriguing example of the possibilities of internet/print symbiosis. It has the democratic and accidental qualities of the net contained in quality editorial arrangement.

Magazine Rack of the Week: Book Box

Norwegian furniture designer Amy Hunting's Book Box is made out of factory wood waste, and can be flipped around to various book (or mag!) configurations. It kind of reminds me of a rustic space invader. Available on Amy's site by request.

In Brief: What, as they say, is up?

We are often quiet ... but now we have a reason! So, yeah. Our zine, Put A Egg On It, just came out and we're in the throes of promotion and post office trips. One cool thing: the zine was in this weeks New York Magazine Approval Matrix! If you're in New York, you can pick up a copy at St. Mark's Bookstore, Spoonbill & Sugartown, Marlowe & Sons, Cinders Gallery and Desert Island. Or you can get your copy here.

On top of that, we're moving into a new studio today and tomorrow! What should we name it?
